Race Review - Bewdley Regatta 2009

Trafford sent a number of crews to Bewdley Regatta this weekend, winning the Women's Intermediate 2 coxed fours (W IM2 4+) and the Mixed Intermediate 3 coxed fours (Mx IM3 4+) on both days of the regatta.

On Saturday, over the 1000m course, the women's crew of Katrin Kretzschmar, Carly Swan, Fiona Fahy, Viv Samuelson, and Sarah Davies (Cox) were drawn against and beat Worcester in the heat and then Birmingham in the final.  On Sunday, over a shorter course of 700m, the same crew beat Bradford on Avon in the heat to produce a repeat of Saturday's final against Birmingham, in which Trafford were victorious again.

The mixed coxed fours crew of Cassi Adams, Lydia Birch, Will Goundry, Andy Welling and Abi Stevenson (cox) beat two crews from Minerva Bath on the Saturday in the heat and final.  The Sunday event saw an exact repeat of both races but with Chris Barton and Richard Bullock in the stern pair and Sarah Davies in the cox's seat.
