Race Review - Marlow Regatta 2009

Trafford's entry for the Wyfold's Coxless Fours at Henley Royal Regatta made the long journey to Dorney Lake to compete in the Men's Senior and Intermediate 1 Coxless Fours at Marlow Regatta.  As the last regatta before HRR, the events contained most if not all of the crews hoping to qualify for the Royal Regatta later this week. 

The Trafford crew of Andy Sykes, Roy Barry, Simon Weeks, and Hywel Benjamin had an early start with their first race taking place at 9:10am, and their second event was scheduled for just over an hour later at 10:20am.  Despite not qualifying for the next rounds in either event, the crew rowed very well and looked much improved on previous outings.  The crew recorded times of 6:50 in the senior category and 6:47 in the intermediate 1 event.  Focus will now turn to gaining precious seconds from their new boat in their quest to qualify from a highly competitve, and hugely over-subscribed, club coxless fours event at the Royal Regatta.
